A journey to a Honduran coffee farm is an experience for all your senses
Coffee farmers face many challenges including climate change, Leaf Rust disease, and volatile prices of coffee in world markets, among others. Many farmers look for creative solutions to overcome these challenges, by improving the quality of their beans, growing specialty coffee varieties, exploring direct trade channels, and adding alternative income sources to the farm operation. One of the alternatives is agri-tourism, an activity that can provide a win-win for the farmer and the visitors. Visit a coffee farm and experience first hand the process of growing, harvesting, and processing quality coffee.
The Visit Honduras Coffee Initiative as a platform created to design and promote coffee farm visits. We work with coffee farmers, coffee shops, and local tour guides offering:
For our coffee farm experiences we work with producers across the different coffee growing regions of Honduras. Currently we are featuring farms in La Paz (Marcala), Lempira (San Marcos de Caiquin), Copan (Santa Rosa de Copan, Veracruz, San Jeronimo & Copan Ruinas). We are constantly adding new farms to the directory.
The coffee farms that we visit are managed by individuals and families that share our commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
